Workforce Care™ Specialty

Corporate Nurses Solving Corporate Workforce Health Problems™

Nurses put the care back in career.™

Mental health outcomes have become a workforce health responsibility.

Organizations today are navigating increasingly complex workforce realities: employee distress, medical leave, Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, workplace accommodations, return-to-work transitions, and employees struggling to remain healthy and employable when workplace problems affect their health.

When workplace problems become health problems, both employees and organizations can pay the price.

Workforce Care™ provides nurse-led education and support at the intersection of workplace health, workplace policy, protected leave, recovery, and return-to-work.

Our goal is not simply to return a body to the job site.

We support employees in returning healthy, prepared to think reasonably, establish appropriate boundaries, practice safely, continue growing, and contribute to the legitimate mission of the organization.

A Professional Nursing System Built for Today's Workforce

Proven Strategies. Not Guesswork.

Workforce Care™ adapts the evidence-based nursing process to workforce health problems.

Our Workforce Care Nurses help employees and organizations understand what is happening before deciding what should happen next.

For employees requiring individualized support, the Glennae Davis Nurse Model™

provides a six-step process:

  1. Root Cause Assessment

  2. Differential Nurse Diagnosis Method™

  3. Health Outcome Alignment

  4. SMART Recovery Planning

  5. Targeted Burnout & Equity Intervention

  6. Strategic Reintegration

The result is an individualized Workforce Care Plan™ designed to support recovery, return-to-work, and continued employability.

Interpretation Before Intervention

Many workforce problems can worsen when employee behavior, health concerns, workplace policy, or functional limitations are misunderstood.

Our approach supports better understanding of:

  • employee health and functional concerns

  • workplace stress and burnout

  • medical leave and return-to-work

  • workplace policy and employee responsibilities

  • accommodation and the Interactive Process

  • documentation and communication

  • healthcare and employment decision-making

  • barriers that may interfere with recovery or continued employability

Assessment comes before intervention.

Understanding what happened, what the employee is experiencing, what has already been attempted, and what outcome is being pursued allows for a more informed response.

Workplace Accommodation Education & Support

Workplace accommodation is both an employee and organizational process.

Workforce Care™ provides nurse-led support for employees navigating workplace accommodations and education for staff and management responsible for participating in the accommodation and Interactive Process.

For Employees

We help employees understand the process affecting their health and employment, prepare to participate in workplace conversations, identify functional concerns, organize relevant information, and work toward safe continued employment or return-to-work.

For Staff & Management

We provide education designed to strengthen understanding of workplace accommodation, the Interactive Process, employee communication, functional considerations, documentation, medical leave, and return-to-work.

The goal is an informed process in which employees and the people responsible for workplace decisions understand their respective roles.

Nurse Assurance™

Workforce Care™ Access Before, During and After Leave

Nurse Assurance™ gives employees ongoing access to nurse-led Workforce Care™ education and support.

Employees receive access to workplace mental health and policy education, the Work Fatigue Quiz™, group nurse education and office hours, resources for medical leave and return-to-work, and a pathway to individualized Workforce Care™ services when additional support is needed.

Nurse Assurance™ can be offered as a voluntary, employee-paid benefit, giving organizations a way to make Workforce Care™ accessible while allowing employees to maintain ownership of their health and employment decisions.

Workforce Care™ begins Day 0 of leave.

A Human-Centered Workforce Health Approach

Workforce Care™ brings together:

  • workplace mental health education

  • Workers’ Compensation

  • FMLA

  • workplace accommodation and the Interactive Process

  • employee health and functional assessment

  • informed healthcare decision-making

  • professional nursing education

  • documentation and communication

  • recovery planning

  • return-to-work preparation

  • strategic reintegration

  • the professional nursing process

This is not about returning an employee to work at all costs.

A healthy workforce includes employees who can think reasonably, establish boundaries, practice safely, continue growing, care for themselves and their families, and remain employable.

For some employees, continued employability means remaining with their current organization and continuing to advance its mission.

For others, it may eventually mean working somewhere else.

Employee health remains the priority.

The Outcomes That Matter

Workforce Care™ is designed to support:

  • Employee health and recovery

  • Informed health and employment decisions

  • Safe return-to-work

  • Return-to-work readiness

  • Appropriate workplace boundaries

  • Safe professional practice

  • Continued employability

  • Better understanding of workplace accommodation

  • Improved communication during medical leave and reintegration

  • Greater employee participation in their own recovery and workforce decisions

Because protecting employees and supporting organizational health are not competing priorities.

A win for the employee can become a win for the employer.

Executive Invitation

When employees develop health problems that affect their ability to work, sending them out on leave is only one part of the process.

What happens before leave, during leave, and in preparation for return-to-work matters.
